THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE

Personalized Massage for Relief, Recovery, and Whole-Body Care

Therapeutic Massage is customized around what your body needs that day. Your session may focus on specific areas of muscular tension and discomfort while still allowing time for broader, full-body care.

Rather than following the same routine at every appointment, Michael adjusts the areas addressed, techniques used, pace, and pressure according to your goals, preferences, and how your body responds during the session.

The Work

Precision techniques designed to address structural imbalances.

Soft-Tissue Release

Targeted manipulation of muscles and tendons to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and restore range of motion in compromised areas.

Trigger Point Therapy

Ischemic compression applied to hyperirritable spots in skeletal muscle. This deliberate pressure helps disarm specific nodes of referred pain.

Myofascial Work

Slow, sustained pressure addressing the connective tissue matrix. We focus on melting fascial restrictions that bind muscles and dictate posture.

More Than a Standard Massage Routine

You may know where you feel tension, but that does not always mean the entire session should be spent on that one spot. Tightness in the neck, shoulders, back, or hips can be influenced by surrounding areas, repetitive activity, prolonged positioning, physical demands, and stress.

Michael uses more than 14 years of experience to determine where focused attention may be helpful while maintaining the balanced, restorative quality many people value in massage.

Depending on your needs, the session may incorporate:

Deep-tissue massage

Myofascial techniques

Trigger-point work

Swedish massage

Sustained or focused pressure

Slower, calming massage techniques

These methods are not applied as a fixed formula. They are selected and combined according to what feels most appropriate for you.

A Good Choice For

Therapeutic Massage may be a good fit if you are experiencing:

Neck and shoulder tension

Back or hip tightness

Everyday muscular aches

Tension related to prolonged sitting or repetitive work

Physical stress from exercise, travel, or an active lifestyle

Stress that feels physically held in the body

General stiffness or fatigue

The need for regular massage care and maintenance

A combination of focused work and relaxation

Pressure Should Be Purposeful

Therapeutic massage does not have to be excessively painful to be effective. More pressure is not always better, especially when the body responds by guarding or tightening.

Michael adjusts the pressure throughout your session based on your comfort, preferences, and response. The goal is to provide focused, effective work without forcing your body through unnecessary discomfort.

What to Expect

Your appointment begins with a brief conversation about how you have been feeling, which areas need attention, and what you would like from the session.

From there, Michael creates a massage based on your priorities. Some appointments may involve concentrated work on a few areas. Others may combine targeted attention with more complete, full-body care.

Because your needs can change, your massage does not have to be identical from one visit to the next.

PHILOSOPHY

Collaborative Pressure

"Pressure is a conversation, not an imposition. We work together to find the precise depth required to free tension without triggering the nervous system to guard."

Effective bodywork requires communication. Throughout the session, we check in on depth and sensation. The goal is never pain, but rather a “productive ache” that indicates the tissue is responding and releasing.
