Frequently Asked Questions
What to know before your appointment.
Which service should I choose?
Choose Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques® when a recurring tension or movement concern is the main reason for your appointment. Choose Therapeutic Massage when you want customized massage that combines focused attention with broader care. Choose Restorative Massage or Reiki when relaxation and unwinding are your main priorities.
Can I book for sciatica, shoulder pain, or low-back discomfort?
Yes. Clients commonly book for concerns such as sciatica or radiating leg discomfort, neck and shoulder tension, low-back or hip discomfort, and restricted movement. Massage and bodywork may help ease related muscular tension and support more comfortable movement, depending on the nature of your symptoms. Michael does not diagnose medical conditions, and new, severe, or unexplained symptoms should be evaluated by an appropriate healthcare professional.
Is MAT the same as massage?
MAT is a system of massage and bodywork that includes substantial hands-on soft-tissue work. It may feel more focused and interactive than a traditional massage because positioning, client feedback, and gentle movement may be used to guide the session.
What should I wear for MAT?
Please arrive in flexible athletic clothing, such as shorts, leggings, a T-shirt, or a tank top. Clothing that allows you to move freely is important because MAT may include comfortable positioning and gentle movement.
Does MAT force the body into alignment?
No. The goal is not to force or adjust the body into a particular position. The work is intended to reduce muscular tension, relieve soft-tissue discomfort, support flexibility, and help movement feel more comfortable.
How much pressure will you use?
Pressure is tailored to you. Effective work does not have to mean tolerating more pressure than feels appropriate. Michael checks in and adjusts the session according to your comfort and response.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on your goals, how long the concern has been present, and how your body responds. Some clients book as needed, while others prefer regular sessions. No specific outcome or number of visits can be guaranteed.
What is the cancellation policy?
Creating Wellness Center requires at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Appointments changed or missed with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged the full session fee.
What is included within Michael’s professional role?
